Description

The group is a continuation of the Oslo part of the original Læringsforsk, which since 2016 has been a cross-campus research group with the aim of strengthening, coordinating and positioning the research at VID about learning and development in professional education and practice. The group has a long portfolio of projects (see appendix for a selection), including several with external funding and external collaboration partners at home and abroad. The research group's purpose is to develop knowledge about learning and development in professional education and practice, with an emphasis on the health and social work professions for which VID educates. The work is based on the premise that there is a close connection between development and research and between empirical studies and theory. The research group belongs to the Center for Diakonia and Professional Practice (SDP) and addresses the center’s need for exploring learning and development of professional knowledge in education and practice. The group is interdisciplinary and cross-faculty. The group's research area has two natural branches: one explores central phenomena related to value learning and formation in professional education, professional pedagogy, and forms of knowledge in professional education. The other branch explores concrete learning and development projects in close collaboration between the educations and the fields of practice. Several projects have elements of both orientations in them.
