Description
The EXISTENTIAL-research group will develop knowledge about the basis for human existential/spiritual being, and how such basic fundamental conditions may be related to health and wellbeing. We explore phenomena across the life-span such as dignity, suffering, vulnerability, shame, guilt, hope, love, belonging, meaning, the holy/sacred, death, aesthetics, art, and more. We also look into how humans experience and interpret this in relation to world-view, culture, values and traditions. EXISTENTIAL-research is interested in how such fundamental phenomena may appear in different settings where patients/clients and their relatives receive healthcare and social support. We are also concerned with the implications this has for the education of professional practice. The VID existential-research group is open to persons throughout VID with a research interest in this area.
