About
Federico is a pracademic, designer of learning experiences, and education entrepreneur who is passionate about helping all sorts of people create and innovate. He works with university students from all over the world, leaders of billion-dollar companies, and budding entrepreneurs. Regardless of whom he trains, Federico's mission is the same: to help humans develop their creative confidence so they can lead more meaningful lives. Federico is currently an Assistant Professor of Innovation at the Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU), where he was awarded the 2015 Teacher of the Year Prize by the students of the Department of Engineering Design and Materials (IPM). He is the founder of Pracademy AS, a global design-thinking training company, and the academic director of DT Bergen, the first design-thinking executive-education program in Norway, held in collaboration with the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), among other institutions. Federico is also the co-founder of the Lab for Design Thinkers at the University of Tromsø, where he was awarded the Teacher of the Year Prize in 2012. Before diving into teaching, Federico founded a couple of startups, the most recent of which received seed funding from Stanford University. Federico is half Mexican, half Spanish, grew up in Southern California, worked in India, and is married to a Norwegian. He holds a BBA, summa cum laude, from Universitat Ramon Llull in Barcelona where he graduated valedictorian, and an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business where he was awarded the inaugural Social Innovation Fellowship. He is adicted to ridiculously spicy foods.
